Black Toaster Oven

Well you don't really have to get a black toaster oven, you can get any colour you want.

I just happen to think that a black toaster oven looks really stylish sitting there on the counter in your kitchen. But that's just my personal preference - feel free to get any colour you want!

About Toaster Ovens - Black Or Otherwise

It was only a short while ago that I first heard about toaster ovens at all. My first reaction was puzzlement - why do you need an oven to make toast?

The reason for the confusion is simple, I am English. In England a toaster is a small device into which you insert sliced bread and maybe the odd teacake. Apparently you can now get these lttle bags that you fill with baked beans and somehow the toaster heats them up while it does your toast. Never tried that and never will. Seems a completely bizzare concept to me.

So Thats What A Toaster Oven is For!

So anyway I discovered the toaster oven and my first reaction was to wonder what the point was when you already have a nice big oven in the kitchen. But I did think straight away that the black toaster oven looked very sleek and would probably look good in my white kitchen.

After reading up on a few of these ovens the penny did finally drop as to why a toaster oven is such a good idea. Whenever I cook a large meal for extra guests I always, always curse the lack of oven space. A nice extra little oven would be an absolute Godsend at times like Christmas and other family get togethers.

Of course a toaster oven is useful in many ways and is far more economical to heat than a full sized oven. This makes them particularly useful in a number of ways -

• if you are cooking for just one or two people
• you may be a busy family with kids doing heaven knows what and coming in and out at different times. A toaster oven makes it easier to cook small amounts as and when required.
• ideal for students especially if space is limited

I now realise of course just why millions of Americans have these great little gadgets in their kitchens and now I want one. More specifically I want a black toaster oven.

Can I Find A Black Toaster Oven? No I Can't!!!

Amazon customers in the U.S. have zillions of toaster ovens to choose from. In the U.K. there are a few but they look a bit puny compared to the ones on offer over the pond. What is worse my favourite black toaster oven isn't listed at all!

Obviously us Brits haven't caught on to this toaster oven lark yet. Amazon knows that we don't really know what they are and so it doesn't list many. I may have to start an awareness campaign.

No doubt someone will tell me I am wrong and that a vast array of toaster ovens, and even a good range of black toaster oven, can be found at J. Bloggs& Sons of Bognor Regis. I will be happy to be corrected if anyone knows of a supplier.
